When Dino Andino was a pro surfer in the 80s and 90s, he’d make an annual trip to Hawaii at year’s end for the winter, like every other professional surfer did (and like all still do). When in Hawaii, Michael Ho took Dino under his wing and, every year, Dino would stay at the Ho family home.

Dino’s since retired from the pro game but ain’t ever forgotten the kindness. Dino and his wife, Tina, have given a home to Mason and Coco Ho for the last 10 Californian summers. Every summer the pair go to Cali for the whole summer to surf and hang with Dino’s son, Kolohe (who you’re probably familiar with).

Since the Nike Lowers Pro kicks off at Trestles tomorrow, every competitor – including Kolohe and Mason – has been down at Lowers prepping. When the image y’see here was snapped, Kolohe was leaving after a warm-up when he ran into Mason, Coco and filmer Joe Alani. With a handsome forecast and the fact that last year’s Nike Lowers event was one of the year’s best, you don’t wanna miss this one. Watch the webcast live here, starting tomorrow.
