Kai Hing was fresh off the plane from Panama (where he’d scooped an equal 15th in the U16 worlds event), when he linked up with photog Matt O’Brien to shoot some photographs on their native Sunshine Coast. In the late afternoon sun, Matt found an angle from behind the peak looking down and, even though he describes it only as a “fat, shitty wave with an abundance of sea-life,” he managed to fire off this study of Kai hanging his fins out.
