Josh Kerr was down at Duranbah, board testing. He had with him a quiver of five. Julian Wilson was there, Mick Fanning too, and though the weather was alternating between sunshine and heavy rain, there were numerous photographers on the beach (as there often is at D-bah). Nick Hollman was one of those photographers, shooting with a Canon 1000d at 1/4000 shutter speed. On one particular lefthander, Josh wound up for this backside sling and stomped, as he so often does. But, what about the fate of the man on the opposing righthander? “Luckily he straightened out,” says Nick. “Otherwise he would’ve been a goner.”
