Joel Parkinson, fan-tailing for 10 points, Snapper Rocks

Today, Joel Parkinson and Julian Wilson surfed the most exciting heat of the Quiksilver Pro, Gold Coast so far. Disagree with that all you like, but expect no apologies. Between Jules’ huge first-hit finner-reverse, and Joel’s 10-point ride, pictured here, it was all very thrilling. Despite loosening his fins and sliding his tail on every turn to the beach, Joel said that the only 10s you remember are the ones that barrel – the rest are always just a blur. So, while this wave was imprinted rather firmly in the minds of all those on the beach today, to Joel it’s now little more than fuzz and a rush. You gotta let go of the old good stuff to make way for the new good stuff, right? Watch all the good stuff happen tomorrow, here.
