Jay Davies Greets The Box

The firm grasp of a fading summer.

Here’s a break for those trapped in the Snapper campaign. Yesterday, on Australia’s Southwestern coast, Jay Davies occupied his time by slipping into something a bit more (un)comfortable–Margaret River’s favourite slice of aqua-granite. While most tremble at this wave’s existence, Jay illuminates inside it like a firefly at dusk.

“On the back of violent winds and 6 meters swell that interrupted the SW’s summer, this morning we were greeted with solid waves and offshore winds,” lensman Tom Pearsall told Stab on yesterday’s session. “First out at the local slab was Jay Davies, followed by young underground charger Jed Mattinson and the silent assassin Chris Ross.”

“It was far from perfect,” he continued. “Peaks were coming in from every direction, and the low tide created a staircase effect. All the boys took their wipeouts with a laugh and amongst the chaos were gifted a few perfect ones.”
