Jared the boatman, funnels between ferries, Fiji

You have just received word, via the visual delicacy here before you, that Cloudbreak was indeed on the pump yesterday. But what you didn’t know, was that it was one of the best swells in recent decades. Between ferrying guests to and from the reef, a boatman by the name of Jared hooked into one of the gems of the day. “From what I hear it was one of the best swells in the last 20 years,” says our image maker Seth de Roulet. “Sheet glassy, perfect direction, 6-8 feet and barreling from the top of the reef through to Shish Kabobs. Jared got this crazy one right in front of me and kept driving until he came out 100 yards passed me.” And yes, there’s more to come.
