Jacko Baker, silence is golden, NSW
Ahh, sweet, sweet synergy. It’s a beautiful thing when a rider and photographer can both be going about their own business and combine their talents to produce the ultimate outcome. There are many elements that align to make this scene so hypnotic, but it’s the unobtrusive angle provided by lensman Peter Boskovic that gives such weight to this lofty punt by Jack Baker. That, and the huge orange ball hovering above him. “Jacko has been ripping lately and is really starting to advance with his surfing,” says Peter. “We decided to go north away from Newcastle because it’s consistently getting over-crowded with blowins. I shot from the water looking towards the sun hoping Jacko would get a ramp. The light was really nice, he got this one and I was anticipating a big punt, which he did.”
