Grom Snaps Over A Great White

Earlier this week, a man filming his 10-year-old son surfing snapped quite the image when he captured the exact moment his boy was snaked by an unwelcome local on film.

 Chris Hasson, a Nelson Bay real estate agent who has surfed all his life, was standing on the rocks at Samurai Beach in Port Stephens when he noticed the large marine creature skimming the surface not too far from his son.

“I was on the rocks taking photos of Eden when I saw a big dark shape. I was about to call the small group (of surfers) in but Eden tooks off on a left and smashed it to the beach,” Chris said in a Facebook post recalling the event. “Just as he is took off I saw something out of the corner of my eye, I kept shooting and after he finished and started paddling back out I zoomed in on the photo and saw he’d done a backhand snap on an eight-foot great white sharks’ head.”

Eden actually wasn’t aware of the situation until he got into the beach and was shown the photo by his dad. “Lucky I didn’t fall off,” he reportedly said.

hile beachgoers and the media were stunned by the close shave, Eden was undeterred, and was back in the water the very next day.
