“This air was so tweaked out,” offers Tom Carey about the Dusty Payne huck we see above. “I don’t think you can tell from this angle how nuts it was.” Stab agrees it is possible to grasp some of the tweak, but not quite all, especially considering this is the man who delivered us a corked frontside throw to end Lost Atlas. This particular chopper went down in Ballito, Durban, South Africa, in the days following Julian Wilson’s victory at the Mr Price Pro. But don’t think for a second that Dusty, ever toned-down out of the water, was bragging. “He came in and acted like it was the worst air ever,” says Tom. “Go figure.”
