Australia’s north east coast has experienced one of its best winters in a long time. A series of perfectly directed swells has flooded the region’s beachbreaks and points with sand. From D’Bah to Straddie, few stretches of surfable coast have been without a high quality surfing canvas.
The point at Burleigh has experienced a particularly curious phenomenon, with the usually treacherous jump off at The Cove now a pleasant walk due to a sand build up covering the rocks. Snapper has seen some of its best days behind the rock in the last decade, resulting in the injury to Parko. While Straddie, pictured here being lacerated by Coolangatta local, Dale Richards, has also seen a multitude of superb sessions go down.
