This is the kinda image you’d find hanging up at the local pub, occupying centre stage atop the dilapidated bar, in clear sight of that old sea dog in the back corner, who yearns to tell a tale, over a drop of ale. Yearning to tell some young hotshot (like yourself), how this day was the best he’d seen in 50 years, and that it will never happen again. But photographer Mike Incitti digresses. It will happen again, much to the delight of the two gents tucked away in these chocolate tubes, Tom Petriken (inside) and Luke Ditella (outside).
“This was one of the best winters to be a New Jersey surfer,” says Tom. “Everything that has a beginning must have an end. As the seasons change and we approach summer, days like this are less frequent. An Atlantic Ocean that was once alive and filled with waves will become dull and flat. Beaches that were blanketed with snow will soon be covered with tourists. All there is to do is wait for it to get cold again because we know more days like this are coming.”
