Since he’s such an aerial hound, Chris ‘Chip’ Wilson, pictured here, was guest judge at Kustom’s recent Mini (Air)Strike. A micro-version of the shoe brand’s annual single-manoeuvre clip contest, Chip was thrilled to put numbers against the hucks and spins he once built upon. But between judging the contest, which was down at D-bah, Chippa went out for a quick session (much to the joy of the competitors), and, as our photographer Blake Ormerod says: “There were these left nuggets coming through with massive end sections. We had solid rain for five days and this day there was a little bit of sun showing through, and just chocolate barrels. In the lineup was Chippa, Jackson Coffey and Occy, and while the session only last an hour, Chippa got the better waves out of everyone.”
Funnily enough, Stab‘s favourite moment from the session was a barrel, despite this being the world’s best aerial surfer, at one of Australia’s best aerial waves, during an aerial contest.
