As told recently, Andrew Doheny (pictured here) flew 3000 miles for empty waves with Alex Knost, Ford Archbold and photographer Tom Carey, who shot this. Sand-bottom tubes in Panama are certainly worth the travel time. “We waited almost a week before the sun came out and conditions came together,” says Tom. “But, when they did, we pounced. We got more photos in a two-hour span then we did all trip. That’s how some trips happen. You’ve just gotta roll with the punches.” This is Droid rolling with ’em like whoa!
