This is a picture of pure surf love. Adriano De Souza won his round two heat at the Margaret River Pro yesterday, just beating Aritz Aranburu. This is one of the few events at which you won’t see Adriano milk every last drop out of his waves, due to the dry rock that waits at the wave’s end. He’s been surfing more of a refined game and, honestly, looks as though he’s been working on his style and smoothness. Given that the dude moved his fam outta the favela in Sao Paulo with money earned through surfing, it’s hard not love his passion and, more pertinently for this photograph, his enthusiasm. Fuck the haters, Ads. Don’t ever change.
