The WSL Launches New Talk Show ‘Getting Heated’
This episode: Is It Time For A Women’s Championship Tour Event At Pipeline?
Talkshows are the preeminent form of coverage across most popular spots in America.
ESPN dominates this market, with other channels such as FOX and NBC boasting impressive sports divisions of their own. In contrast, some leagues have developed their own avenues for this brand of content (ie. NFL Network) to seize some of the market share of this profitable endeavor.
Today, the WSL taken that very blueprint the NFL and other such leagues have pioneered, launching their own talk show titled ‘Getting Heated’. Moderated by Dave Prodan and hosted by Mick Fanning and Ross Williams, this is a debate-style show in which Mick and Ross go back and forth on topics such as who’s most affected by Sunset’s cancellation and if the Women are ready for an event at Pipe.
We’re sure it’s hard to launch a new show in a pandemic with your counterparts on different continents. Mick and Ross are whip smart and carry all the gravitas needed to validate the opinions they’ll be laying forth. If you can get past the show’s name, you’ll find a high level conversation on competitive surfing inside.
