In a market that Jamie-O once monopolized, there are now literally millions of surf vloggers granting fans regular access to their everyday, if wildly exciting lives.
The latest Youtube sensation, New Zealand’s Luke Cederman, has delivered a self-promotional opus — and what many are calling “The BEST surf vlog EVER (no cap)” — in the opening episode of his ‘Surfing & Convincing People I Have A Personality’ series.
Consider us convinced.
Cederman’s liberal use of volume, epileptic transitions, and middle school bullying tactics seem to hit all the key markers for a successful surf vlog. There are also HILARIOUS pranks, and at one point, his best friend Faeces chooses to ride a boogieboard instead of a surfboard. Genius.
In the next ep, Luke and Faeces will pretend to be not very good surfers (even though they are very, very good surfers) at a surf lesson and then spray locals in the Raglan parking lot with shaken-up Red Bulls. Stay tuned.
