( Chromatic ) is a new film from Analog that you’ve heard much noise about. Chips Wilson and Nathan Fletcher are the stars, Riley Blakeway is the director. It’s concise (a blunt 22 minutes) and has a 90s surf film charm to it. There’s no frills. Filmed in Oz, Cali, France, Fiji, Central America and Hawaii, there’s hammers from credits to credits. As Riley says, “because the surfing’s so gnarly in this, especially with bigger airs and bigger waves, I just kinda wanted to let the surfing do the talking. I cut the bullshit.” And the kid ain’t wrong – the surfing is all meat, no fat. Dive in, the water’s warm.

100s of ridiculous airs but watching one after another became boring as hell and it seemed way longer than 20mins lucky there weren’t some hell waves form NF or it would way to repetitive.

does it annoy anyone else that every surf movie puts in heaps of bails? sure if someone is trying to stick something put a try or 2 in but just random clips of bails after an air does my head in.
same with a barrel they don’t make. fuck, i can not make those barrels as well. put em in the credits not the movie.
There should be a difference between the quality of a 3 minute edit and a seasons film. just saying.
thought this was epic though, above is just commentary of new surf flicks in general.

very creative edit, but i kinda felt it was a bit all over the place.
seemed like he had waves from all over the place all put together with 1 song, including some amazing waves from the cloudbreak swell last year.
Also – the 1 wave air vs full wave with combos ratio was a bit off – wouldve like more combo waves.
