In the Barbados episode of War(D) Stories, Chris Ward and pal Mason Ho go to, yup, Barbados. And, score the place about as good as you could hope to. Both men get very barrelled and Josh Kerr even squeaks through a few at the end of the clip. Some more things you might learn about Wardo from this episode (but probably already knew): He likes to drink beer, he doesn’t concern himself with things like boards and wax, and he can ride a tube.

James B – have you ever seen the Dos Equis commercials? I don’t think anyone is SERIOUSLY saying that he IS the most interesting surfer. it’s a joke! just like the Most Interesting Man probably didn’t once teach a German shepherd to bark in Spanish. Lighten the fuck up. It’s a surf movie.

Chris Ward never did anything bad to me, I’ve never met him, He never dated my grandma, or burned anyone I know. What I know of him though, is that he seems like a bad guy, always in trouble, messing up, couldn’t keep his head on straight. Every story I ever heard second hand about the guy was about crap he was doing that was negative. Why push an aging retread like this? When he was 18 and coming up, I get it as an image marketing idea for Lost. Now though, even though he still surfs good, it just seems like a waste of time. Largely he is ridiculed on here, and his problems are brought up, not his surfing. That said, he does still rip.

Just watched Wardo surf Huntington. Sure the waves sucked, but a few years ago he was pulling the same turns he as was not today. He looked slow and chunky. Can he only surf in good waves now, after beers, or when he is motivated?
