Who’s gonna win?
The truth is that this an old school comp. It’s about the waves, the spot and the people that are on it. True – it could do more in terms of internet slutting – but ask anyone that lives here or for that matter anyone that gets an invite, and ask them if it’s good enough. I think that everyone would agree that it is a pretty special comp and is made more appealing/ intruiging by the lack of mainstream / webcast attention.
@ 7 We don’t pretend that Bali is as you say “middle of nowwhere anymore”. It is in fact right in the middle of where it needs to be. If you need internet porn save your seed and hand blisters until the Chopes comp. If you need adverts and dodgy downloads – wait until the euro leg. Otherwise get yo self over here for the full Padang Cup waiting period next year and feel what it’s really like to be part of a the scene.
Had the beers….told the boss i might not make it to work………WTF no live feed……..really…..could have let me know Rip Curl!!!!
Yeah right. Get over there for the whole waiting period. Webcasts are there for people who live in the real world, and have real jobs. We don’t have the luxury of getting over to Bali just to watch a comp. But with the way Rip Curl and Billabong have carried on this year, I’d be way less likely to buy their crap.
we didnt have live feed because over here because, one, we live in bali in the moment and two, we dont care what the rest of the world thinks. We would rather spend the money on bintangs and after partys.
WWWWWAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOO
Go Dede.
I love that the surf industry is so hurting that they can’t afford web feeds now. Nice job Rip Curl on no Search, but this sick unwatched comp. Billdemwrong with JBay, then sponsoring 3 star events in Japan. Nice economic clout, please just let the winner be announced in a mag in a month or so just like the 80′s.
why did they sponsor, if NO ONE CAN SEE IT live???????????????????????????
make it mandatory to live feed…. rip curl, volcom… second tier surf companies
