Ozzie = skater/punk/artist who doesn’t try to surf classic lines at all, reps his own scruffy punk style

Both sick in their own way but I’d pick Ozzie any day

fuck i thought that was sick… i dont agree blizz, Medina is amazing, but he isnt a character, and i know i like a bit of story but the surfing. Medina is too perfect, but Ozzie and Otis keep us on edge the whole time watching

Woah woah woah. Appreciate opinions, so here’s mine. Surfing isn’t a sport. Hell, it wasn’t that long ago that surfers were considered the dregs of society. Misfits who belonged well out of the public eye. The beauty of this culture is you can do what ever the hell you want with it. Grab a sled and let your mind run free. Do a chop hop, practice three turns to the beach, run to the nose, soul arch your way through a bottom turn. Hell, do whatever it is that makes you happy. Bottom line is there’s a place for everyone in this thing. Forget about the marketing and the dollars and go surf. I’m sure you’ll still be hearing about the next innovative flip, just as you will the next funky board design or CT result. My advice is have a panadol and chill out, this thing is meant to be fun.

Okay, you bring up a good point here Tvong. Surfing has fuck all in common with a a bunch of guys racing for a finish line. It’s roots are deep in alternative culture and for most humans that partake, its less about being a purely competitive sport and more about the lifestyle; a way of life. I love surfing and I love to follow the tour but its only a small aspect of what surfing means to me. I feel sorry for you if you can’t appreciate the more creative, free side of surfing. Both will always exist.
