TB on Mayhems in the OC

So much better on Mayhems. Is it the shaper or the construction? Most likely both. The slightly fuller templates and eased entry rockers suit him well. But then, none of the new constructions/materials have turned out to be anything but hype. No one surfs better on firewires or surftechs or any of that crap. Is it because surfing and shapes evolved with P.U. or is it simply better? You have to wonder if Taj is a modern Cheyne who blew his chance at a world title through self inflicted equipment choices in his prime years. A world title is needed or its into the woulda shoulda coulda file. This year that means two or three wins in the first five events.
It must be hard sometimes to be Slater and balance other mens futures on your whims

minus the last segment at the beach break, looked like a bunch of “safety” surfing to me… he does rip though, just a lackluster couple of clips i guess. i doubt his girlfriends care either way

very well put, spitball. his rail game on the wires occasionally resembled an overstoked grom at a juniors event. taj looks way less fidgety on matt’s shapes. His wafts have more umph behind them, and he’s finally linking maneuvers together with flow. Taj + Matt = title contention
