Poolside Love Affair

Stab challenged surf trunk designers around the world to build us the ultimate pair of shorts. 

Can you imagine it? No retail, construction or budget constraints, just trunks in their purest form. Each brand has a slightly different take on the brief, which was to find inspiration from the book, Poolside with Slim Aarons, a compendium of photos taken from the fifties through to the nineties (but mostly in the sixties and seventies) of totally rich and utterly fabulous rich devils living luxe lives under the American and European sun. 

We wanted to reach a similar utopia of colour and style. 

And, we think we got it. Among these beautiful, hand-made, well thought-out trunks, what lights up your imagination? What detail makes you smile? What can you imagine slipping into when that big ol red ball hovers over us? Voting starts on Monday October 15 at 9am, and finishes on Friday October 26 at 5pm. Whatever pair wins, we’ll celebrate in the next print edition of Stab as the world’s best surf trunks. They’ll also feature on the cover on the surfer of their choice.
