A Lot Of Good Things Happen In Pubs
Volcom takes up residency at The Steyne for some real high times.
The Australian Open of Surf fires up for biz in a very hot second, and during that time, Stab’s pals at Volcom have moved into a residency at The Steyne, in Manly. Because they can’t help themselves, The Stone fam have hatched the blueprint for one helluva week. Art, music, surf and skate all melted into a generous fondue. It all starts on February 27. Are you ready? Deep breath…
Monday.
Ozzie Wright in the house. Surfer, artist, musician, Oz will be painting a mural, live, on a wooden row boat on the pub roof. That’s quite awesome, anyway you slice it. Speaking of slicing, meals are two for one that day. Go watch the Doom Goon splash some colour while you and a pal dine (and, stay for the surf, skate, snow trivia).
Tuesday.
At 5pm, adventure painter Anthony Lister, and mural master Gemma O’Brien, will be throwing down large scale works (live!). And to sweeten the scene, a pint will cost you the same as a schooner.
Wednesday.
A wildly fun mix, starting at 5pm, of a mini ramp skate jam, surf/skate/snow trivia, a premiere of Metal Neck 2: The Bangover (win a Droid craft!), and a live set by Bleeding Knees Club. And, gratis beer courtesy of Corona… what’s not to love?
Thursday.
The Volcom promo booth opens at 3pm with more freebies to be won than you can carry home. Trivia is back, before a Mitch Coleborn craft and Volcom pack are given to one lucky entrant (to win, just drink a Corona), followed by a Volcom x Vans pro skate team mini demo, and finally live sets by Mammals and Flower Truck.
Friday.
More free shit, more trivia, more beer, more serious giveaways, and more live bands, this time Los Tones and Jacki Brown Jnr. Yowser!
Saturday.
Alright, this is one we’re real excited about. In joint, Stab and Volcom present Paradise Club, a one-night-only social jam featuring sets from Andrew Doheny’s band, PowerLunch, and Noa Deane’s band, Blister. Also featured: Generously-dispensed gratis liquor. We want you to come to this one, so make sure you arrive early because spots are limited. See you there.
