Matt Meola’s Winter Routine
A seasonal guide to his “windblown hurricane hole.”
Matt Meola is one of the most well-rounded surfers in the world. It’s frustrating how he handles spindle flips, backflips, salient hacks, and 40-foot Jaws bombs while being short a backing from a major surf company. What’s even more maddening, is that he isn’t burdened with all that pesky traveling those poor World Tour surfers have to deal with. Nope, he sits at home, wakes up when he wants to, and flips his away around the lineup like another hibiscus caught in the strong winds familiar with The Valley Isle.
