Lee Wilson From Unsponsored To Inking New Deals
The Brixton gear goes great with his new Chilli blades.
Mr Wilson went from washing dishes to a fresh deal and a new start. “I was living in New Zealand for a bit working as a dish-pig and running coffees,” Lee told Stab. “Then I moved to Australia and worked in a restaurant, waiting tables and scrubbing dishes. I got invited to the Padang cup last year and I told my girl, the one I’m currently with, I wasn’t going to do it. I had a job, was making money and was trying let the dream go.” Lee made the leap for the Padang Cup, which didn’t run. Instead he got busy piecing together a ‘sponsor me’ tape, which led to a fresh inked deal with Brixton. And now, Chilli’s got a piece of the Bali local.
“I recently partnered up with Chilli surfboards,” said Mr Wilson. “So stoked. I knew there would be a bit of a transition changing shapers and all, so i thought it would be cool to film this change in my life. I got six boards, all the same, but with different tweaks that the naked eye can’t see. I went through board after board. Breaking them from mistiming till I found one that I was quite familiar with. The one. 4 days, 5 broken boards, 1 edit. Please Enjoy, we certainly did. Big thanks to the Chilli team for the film time and surfboards”
