In France, Frankie Harrier’s The Opposite Of Noir
It’s all bright on the southwestern front
Remember Frankie Harrer? The girl who towed into Teahupoo when she was 16? And then again when she was 18? Well, here’s what she’s been up to lately. Let’s have filmmaker Taylor Curren, who directed the clip you see above, explain: “We started off the trip in Paris for a couple of days. Walked 10 miles while severely jet lagged, and got to check out everything from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre. After that, we flew to Biarritz for the ISA World Surfing Games since Frankie was competing for the German international team.
“We shot all down the south-west coast of France from Hossegor to Biarritz in between German surf team practices. Had an overall awesome trip and got to have lots of red wine and amazing French cuisine in the process.” The cinematic result? Warm surf footage juxtaposed with b-roll, a vogue filmmaking technique (obviously) as of late, starring a surfer who continues to impress.
