Vans went from 80′s iconic, to Super Douche mall wear. Good memories though… How about sponsoring a comp, or tag teaming w Billabong to get JBay back? If you are so successful, can’t you afford 500k to do something useful?

Good point Whinge, I wrote that, but was in a haze of nostalgia. Growing up, Vans was cool and hardcore…a skate company. Now it is super hipster mall decor> My point was, that SINCE they are super douche mall wear (like Billabong, Quicksilver, etc. are to a point), then maybe they should step up and sponsor an event. I lost some brainees in the 80′s, so I wasn’t making my point that I know they are long gone, and get how the company is now, they might as well step up. I want JBay back!
I’m not too sure, but at least in Queensland it seemed like Vans were mostly worn by skaters and surfers even 3/4 years ago and not just what every kid with bight shorts and a longboard has to wear.
