Russell Bierke, bluetooth cave-running, South Coast Oz

Russel Bierke is the next super power in big wave surfing. And he’s only 15. Riding step-ups shaped by pops Kirk and rolling pal-side with Kip Caddy (who also has grit unbefitting of his age bracket), waves like this bluetooth (hands-free!) backside cave ain’t nothing for the kid from Ulladulla. He doesn’t dig on the ski so hard and is already a more manly surfer than half the men in any given lineup he paddles into, despite being a coupla years from legally driving or drinking. Expect to see him winning XXL awards and lighting up galleries from any big wave sessions in coming years – much like this session on the South Coast recently.
