You’ve gotta love surfers like Otis Carey. Sure, he’s sponsored as a pro surfer but that has varying meaning and Otis certainly lives no champagne existence. The guy’s never got coin, and yet will rarely turn down the offer of an adventure, whether it’s camping out at Black Rock with a few tins of Heinz Beans or a couch-surf mission through San Clemente. You gotta dig good hessian swagger and his music, a blend of mostly garage and indie rock, is the bracket you’ll find most often favoured by broke youth.
