Fatal Great White Attack Off Coast Of New Zealand
The first shark related death in the country since 2013.
Thursday afternoon Kaelah Marlow was pulled away from her friends by a rip while swimming at New Zealand’s Waihī beach.
Nearby swimmer Amanda Gould got herself and her children out of the water safely. While watching from the beach she could see a struggle in what unfortunately turned out to be a fatal shark attack. Despite the Lifeguards best efforts to save her, the rescue boat took 5 minutes to get to her aid due to the rough conditions in what is a thoroughly chilling series of events.
While there was an attack here in 2018, this is the first fatality since 2013. Our thoughts go out to the victim and her family.
