There ain’t nothing glamourous about affixing a camera of the front of your board or waddling down the beach trying to capture your every move but this here new GoPro clip for their new cam is nothing short of brilliant. This clip celebrates the launch of their new GoPro HERO3. Check the shot of Manoa Drollet at Teahupoo where the camera goes up into the lip (and shoots from behind the tube) and then enters back into the barrel. Can you imagine when we’re seeing this kinda framing of the 10-foot tube variety…
This camera can also be placed on the end of JW’s wrists to capture the awesome thunder clap of his fist pumps after shampoo cover ups!
Youre a stupid fuck! of course they put in post production. But it still shows what is possible with this great little camera system. They are not using any software that isnt available to anyone that readily edits video footage (anyone can buy it). Editing video is a creative process, its not going to do everything for you !
And they give you the resolution in the hero 3 so you can do such post camera stabilization etc without eating real pixels when editing in 1080p. That shit is worth its small cost alone!

Can someone please explain how that camera is rigged so it can record going in and out of the lip. This is the most ground breaking bit of footage for a long time. Is the camera on a 2 metre rod off the back of the board? Any links would be appreciated.

What you don’t see is the hours and hours of post production, stabilizing programs and super slow motion programs used to make this clip… If they are so good why dotn hollywood Movie companies use them in stead of $200k cameras ? However great for the kiddies to play with .
Can certainly get them in places other cameras can’t go.
