Mitch Coleborn scoops Fiji Wildcard

Mitch Coleborn, 25 years old and from Australia’s Sunshine Coast, has been given one of two wildcard spots for the Volcom Pro, Fiji. “Tavarua is one of my favorite places in the world,” says Mitch, who’s recently decided to take a serious crack at WT qualification. “To compete at a world-class wave makes for a really even playing field. Everyone will get sick waves, from the vets to the rookies; it will come down to your surfing and that keeps match-ups real fair. I can’t wait.”
The other wildcard will go to the local Fijian trials winner. The contest starts in five days, over here. Excited?

Still have not seen any detailed account of Mitch’s Canadien adventure last year. Another possibly interesting story buried by the surf industry. From the best I can piece it together Mitch was wasted at 8am in the morning and caught/arrested for masterbating near a school? Sounds to me like an unfortunate end to a wild night. Let’s hear about the drugs/dares/excess that led to the mishap.
