Laird takes up sailing

Posted 25 Jun 2012, by STABmag

Laird Hamilton’s list of ocean sport achievements are, within his niche, unmatched. And he’s just added sailing to that list. Last wednesday, according to a report on Surfer’s Village, he “joined ORACLE Racing, took the helm of Jimmy Spithill’s AC45 on San Francisco Bay and made the boat fly. ‘Well, what can I say, I got to take out none other than Don Wildman and Laird Hamilton for the day on SF Bay; 20 to 25 knots windspeed, flying around…does it get any better?’ said Spithill.”

Is there anything the man can’t do well? Laird forbid.

Lets hope he gets obsessed with that and gives up SUPing.. We’re sick of his giant ego in the lineups over here on Kauai taking waves off little kids and uncles to feed his need to feel superior.. Role models should be humble and this guy.. well.. As incredible as his athleticism may be, his attitude and arrogance undermine andy positive influence he has in my mind…
