Johnny Florence, La Barre, France

Now that the Quik Pro, France has wrapped and the 34 have traversed through Europe for the Rip Curl Pro, Portugal (starting today), we though it’d be swell to take a look back at one of the sessions that went down on a lay-day. Only this time, from a different angle.

This was one of the first lay-days and Jordy Smith, Dusty Payne and tour rookie Johnny Florence (pictured here) were surfing a wedging shorebreak. Johnny, as good on rail as he is above lip may’ve blasted some crazy airs, but he sure lay-down a few turns like this one, too. It took Jules Wilson a while to find his feet on the WT and now he’s a regular at the business-end of every event. Expect Johnny to do the same.
