Joel Parkinson paddles Molokai To Oahu, real soon

The gruelling paddle between Hawaiian islands Molokai and Oahu is a 52km haul that Joel Parkinson’s gonna cross with trainer Wes Berg on July 29, for the Paddleboard World Championships. “It’s just something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the chance,” says Joel. “It’s a huge personal challenge and there’s just something really primal about getting on a board and paddling to an island you can’t even see over the horizon.”
How else do you fill a two-month break between WT events, huh?

Correction: Wes Berg is paddling the channel. When he gets tired Joel will jump in and paddle for a few minutes. No reason for Joel to paddle across, Wes has been one of the top finishers for years solo and Joel wouldn’t even have to paddle once for them to get a podium finish.

Exactly JJP. Teaming the race and soloing it are two hugely different animals.
I cannot believe that, with all the stuff STAB allows to be posted, ripping people to shreds, that they actually pulled all those posts down…
