How to win a heat: With Jack Freestone
Posted 16 Oct 2012, by STABmag
Jack Freestone just posted a 19.53 combined heat total in the semis of the Oakley World Juniors, at Keramas in Bali. He also posted a 9, which became a throwaway. All before his Moroccan opponent, Ramzi Boukhiam, had stood up. The highlight, and the wave that scooped him a 10, was a frontside spin with kerrupt grabs (slob n stale), which Jack attributes to Matt Meola and calls a Hippie flip. He’ll now face Hawaiian Zeke Lau in the final. Zeke also has a steam on, and Keramas is skatepark-esque, so get over there.
is the hippie flip what dion agius does in ‘electric blue?” have to re-watchin slo mo and figure out the variation if any…
Probably the most clean, innovative and eye friendly display I have seen.
