Bronson Meydi Frees All Three, Today At Duranbah
Confirmation That 12 Year-Olds Can Play The Power Game Too.
His english isn’t exceptional, but 12 year-old Indo-Australian Bronson Meydi’s surfing certainly is. He managed to sneak this ride under a typically flustered D’Bah lineup this afternoon, opting to prove that featherweights aren’t always about the rotor.
“I just think it’s super sick seeing a 12 year-old putting it on rail that hard,” said the man behind the lens, Asher Nolan. “He looks like a mini Julian Wilson.”
While it may be easy to pull the youngsters up for having an inclination for jumping, you gotta remember they don’t have as much body torque at their disposal. So when you see a grom showing a full set of claws like this, credit is due.
However the buzz was killed shortly afterwards when a surly man who appeared to be triple the boy’s age released a barrage at Bronson and his pals directing them to shore (in a matter of speaking). It’s unsure whether he felt threatened or simply frustrated with his own form, but some of the young bucks thought it would be entertaining to try and get a photo with him back at the carpark. The photo op failed to eventuate but the idea did bring about a van full of giggles.
