When you’ve spent the year in the bleachers, you can get horny for surf. Six months ago, in his first heat of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic, Santa Cruz, Dusty Payne clicked a lien in the shorebreak, landed funny, and tore ligaments in his left ankle. An after months of therapy, rehab and the like, Dusty’s back. Jus in time for Chopes.
Rather than bolt to a waveless Teahupoo early, Dusty flew to Australia. In one of his first surfs back, he took to the water with Ryan Hipwood at South Straddie on the Gold Coast. The waves were quite good. He surfed all day Tuesday and then flew to Tahiti yesterday. We’re very into a man who breaks plans to score more surf. Bravo to Mr Payne, and real nice to see you back in the water.

Very lame clip could go down to my local beach and get footage of better surfing from 12year olds or the 80year old on a mal. Where were any turns or 1 made air why the fuck would any pro want footage of those waves surfed on vid for any one to see.

Look there was a fair few decent barrels made, not many turns/airs but I’d be stoked if that was one of my first surfs back after a long injury.
