Doyobi!

Saturdays Surf, New York City, opened its gates to the world in August 2009. Determined, in their words, to “suit a lifestyle occupied with surfing, living and working in New York City.” What began as selling wetsuits, apparel and selected accessories, has since become an avenue for Saturdays to design their own lines of menswear, offering quite a unique stamp on prints in this age of blank tee obsession (which has overstayed its welcome, Stab feels!) – they’ve even been nominated for the GQ-selected Best New Menswear Designers in America.

You should, by now, be used to the idea of having a surf store in the capital of the world. So, you shouldn’t be too shocked to hear that Saturdays have just opened up a second store in Tokyo.

Earthquake tremors notwithstanding, these city kids should have a taste for sashimi and a healthy stream of foot traffic in no time. - Shinya Dalby
