Dear Suburbia, Gold Coast premiere Tonight
Posted 20 Sep 2012, by STABmagDear Suburbia, Kai Neville’s new film, premieres tonight on the Gold Coast. The screening will be at Kirra Surf, with The Verlins playing a set at 7pm. There’ll also be a free sausage sizzle and, obviously, excellent surfing. Number 8 Creek Street, Kirra. Reckon this’ll pack out? Don’t be late.
I dig fresh content. This was boring, really. The surfing was good, airs rad, edit good, soundtrack just fine. But that contrived “art” . Stop trying to bundle neo hip surf soul and selling me that some guy with air tricks, solid cutbacks and a carbon footprint of 10 men is now an archetype of neo bohemian style. Stop it. Just tell it like it is. Fringey jocks with salaries, bonus incentives and a social commerce strategy
