Day Seven of the Quik Pro, France

The semifinalists have been decided at La Graviere for the Quiksilver Pro, France. And it’s a premium lineup. John Florence will surf against Dane Reynolds, Kelly Slater against Joel Parkinson. Reckon Kelly is worried? “I won’t even think about the semifinal against Joel much,” said the Floridian. “You know, it’s pointless to think about, you get to sit there all night and not sleep. It’s an important heat for both of us and whatever is going to happen is going to happen.”

Joel, on the other hand, was too thrilled to be concerned. “That was sick, that was unreal,” he said. “That’s what you dream of when you’re trying to make the tour. You just want to have a nice heat in France at La Graviere when it’s pumping. There were so many good waves out there and I wished I could have surfed for an hour.”

And while John is certainly aware of the gravitas this event has for him (“It is an important event for sure, the whole title race thing, I’m trying not to think about it too much”), he’s also feeling the conditions: “It was a lot of fun, there are a lot of waves coming in. There’s a lot of current shifting everyone around though so you have to keep your eye on that one peak but it was fun!”

Dane revealed some of his competitive intentions, which are mostly lighthearted, and is vibing on waves at La Graviere. “I’m looking forward to being able to surf these waves again, especially in the morning. It’s so nice out there. I’m still competing, but I’m just doing the events that I really want to do and trying to find the right balance for me. I’m definitely enjoying being here and doing this event, I’m psyched!”

We don’t lip sync in Stab, U Suck. But we try.

3.

lol awesome response, Stab! Fuck these haters…

Point out where i said Parko will win this comp toolbag. I have said all along him and Mick are the guys to beat this year for the title. Parko will take the lead after this event, and should he beat Slater in the semis Fanning will be in 2nd with Slater very close behind him. With Parko having almost a full bag of keepers already the pressure is now on fanning, slater and the only other person with a chance, John John.

and the pressure is also on you to come up with a decent comment goose.

Sounds like you got up early and went to bed too late mate. Webcast worked well for me, in HD full works, has a lot to do with your broadband connection…prompt replays too

If there is a more mentally challenged organization than the ASP, and its contest presentation, i’d like to see it. Another shithouse webcast, w a dodgy stream, and workability. Quit paying some pale desk jockey to waddle down to the coast and give an ASP Week in Review, and SPEND THE F***ING MONEY ON A UNIFIED WEBCAST FOR THE TOUR. WTF!?!!

    6.

I’ve got one for you, the whole staff of STAB.

I watch on HD TV and the stream was as bad as I’ve ever seen, had to turn it off

Ha ha! I don’t like Medina, but he just bitch slapped Owen Wright literally and figuratively! Owen, looking for the judges to bail him out with interference or priority change, after Medina paddled across the deck of his board and splashed water in his face. Owen, sack up mentally, mate. U got rattled, and Medina may be hated, but he just absolutely worked you at all phases of competition.

    10.

bye bye medina, you opened your mouth way to early bud and although medina rips mate I am yet to see him put on a controlled clinic of multiple heavy wave pits in 30mins like kelly, joel, and dane did today.

11.

meeeh … and guess what mate, bender thinks parko will win this comp. hahhaha

i can’t understand these aussies… they rip through the entire event. but when it comes to decisions…. another aussie down. 2 more to go!

hey bender. ya better bring your calculator for the next events. there’s gonna be some major upsets till the end of the year mate.

and i’m not even kidding fender!

cheers!

bendy my boy…ya right in every single word ya said. but one thing is true. if joel’s got a 10 for his wave, kelly’s 9.2 .. and i’m not even talking about the 9.93…
      kelly’s 9.2 would be a perfect 10. on a perfect 20 points heat!

watch out for that too.(what the heck ya nicknames anyway bogans, kooks, weirdos, hell with it, just get real)

i saw it on demand, danes 9.10 that is. i think the snake was too busy checking his topsport or surfbet account.

16.

See ya brazzo’s…

    17.

    See you aussies. lol

18.

Uh oh. I have a shit sandwich coming if Dane wins this. I said he’d never win a comp, but after getting his boards jacked, he looks unstoppable. I will apologize if he wins, and eat crow. He actually looks serious.

19.

PATHETIC COMMENTARY. That Aussie guy mentioned like 10x how Kelly was overscored in Ace Fuckham heat, while he admitted he never saw the 4.whatever of Ace that the scale was based on.

    20.

    *correction ADRIAN fuckham

There wasn’t an exclamation mark on Dane’s “I’m psyched”

    22.

Oh, someone is getting cheeky as us. The backend IP check thing is too creepy. We can see the pretty roof of your house.

23.

I kinda want Parko to win a world title. Kelly or JJ would be cool too
